COVID-19 UPDATE: UK Kiosks are returning to work – find out how?

Since Tuesday 24th March 2020, after the Prime Minister announced the first stage of the lockdown the night before, UK Kiosks decided to close down its manufacturing facilities and work at a limited capacity in line with the new guidelines.

However, after reviewing the ongoing situation, the management team have decided to re-open on Monday 4th May 2020. We take the safety of our customers, suppliers and employees very seriously so there will be new safety and social distancing guidelines in place to support them all day-to-day.

The Changes We’re Making

We will need to be mindful of the ‘2-meter rule’ when manufacturing and assembling our kiosks and cabins. Also, we have ensured a sufficient supply of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), for when our shop floor staff carry out most of their daily tasks. All staff, including office staff, will continue to wash their hands regularly for no less than 20 seconds using soap and hot water and alcohol sanitisers will also be available.

The Delivery of Kiosks

We will be (where applicable) using one person to carry out deliveries. This means that we will not be able to deliver models 2.50m x 2.50m models and larger without a forklift/telehandler available on site. Please get in touch for alternative delivery methods.

Our drivers will work to a non-contact approach, maintaining the ‘2-meter rule’ when requesting information from our customers about the location of offloading. Once the kiosk is in place, the driver will open the door and place the paperwork and keys inside the kiosk – These will have been cleaned thoroughly before departing from our depot.

The driver will step back from the kiosk, after placing the paperwork inside, allowing our customers to inspect the kiosk. Once the inspection is complete, a picture of the kiosk will be taken in situ as proof of delivery. This will avoid having to ask for a signature and risking the driver or our customers.

When the drivers return, we will ensure they wash their hands and ensure any PPE worn is disposed of. We shall also make an effort to clean and disinfect our van each time it is used.

Existing Orders & New Orders

If you currently have an existing order(s) with UK Kiosks and have been notified by your sales contact about the order being put on hold, you will now be contacted again to confirm we are resuming manufacturing. This, of course, will be if you are operational and able to receive a delivery from us.

If you are looking to place an order with UK Kiosks, then we ask kindly that you bear with us. Our normal leading times will be longer than normal, as we are having to catch up ourselves with existing orders and that does take priority.

Our Plan to Help

With the above being said about new orders, we are still committed to doing the best we can to help in this national crisis. If you are a contractor/contracting firm that is supporting our NHS, please let us know if we can assist in the new hospitals or testing centres. Please find a contact form on our contact page, fill this in and submit and our team will be in contact with you shortly after.
